There is nothing like homemade lemonade on hot summer day. Perfection! Here is our recipe to make a gallon’s worth which only lasts an hour or so here:)
You will need:
3 or 4 large Lemons
1 1/2-2 cups of sugar
4 cups ice
- Cut the lemons in half. Discard the ends. Squeeze each half separately in a lemon squeezer over the gallon pitcher. I usually throw in a few lemon wedges in the pitcher as well to make the glasses look pretty when pouring (only do this if you are planning to drink the lemonade in the next 24 hours otherwise the lemons get funky). Also if you do this make sure to remove the seeds from the lemon wedges.
- add ice
- add sugar (add more or less depending on how sweet you like it). Our family likes it sweet but not too sweet
- fill with water to the top of pitcher
- stir and pour
This is the perfect time to clean your garbage disposal with the lemon wedges. It cleans the blades in the disposal as well as makes the kitchen sink smell nice.
Grab a comfy chair outside and put your feet up:) you earned it;)
