Ingredients Needed to Make Homemade Strawberry Pie Recipe
- 1 Pie Crust (I am a fan of Pillsbury’s)
- Strawberries (enough to pie a pie pan (about 1 quart))
- 1 3oz package of Strawberry Jello
- 1 12oz can of Sprite (or 1.5 cups from a 2 liter bottle)
- 2 tablespoons of clear gel (or you can substitute for cornstarch)
- 1 Cup of Sugar
*The strawberries in this pie can be substituted for any fruit. We have made it with peaches and I hope to try it with plums and cherries in the future*
However, I suspect that strawberries will always be everyone’s first choice!
Step by Step Instructions for How To Make our Homemade Strawberry Pie Recipe
Step ONE – Bake Pie Crust
After picking out my favorite pie plate, I bake the strawberry pie crust.
Prick Holes in Pie Crust & Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.

I think Pillsbury sells a great pie crust & it is so much quicker & easier than making homemade pie crust.
You just need to remember to prick a few holes in the crust before baking.
Step TWO – Cut the Strawberries
While the pie crust is baking I cut up the strawberries.
Step THREE – Make the Strawberry Pie Filling
After the strawberries are cut, I start boiling the sugar, clear gel & sprite over the stove top until thick.
I have not been able to find clear gel for sale at my local grocery store but I can usually find it for sale in Amish country.

However, you can find it on Amazon,
Hoosier Hill Farm Clear Jel, 1.5 Lbs.
Once the mixture of clear gel, sprite & sugar is thickened, take it off the burner & stir in the strawberry jello.
Step FOUR – Add the Strawberries to the Strawberry Pie Crust
Once the pie crust is baked and out of the oven for a few minutes, I add the strawberries on top of the pie crust.

Step FIVE – Pour the Strawberry Jello Mixture Over the Strawberries & Cool the Strawberry Pie
Pour Jello/Sugar Mixture over Strawberries & Put in Fridge for a few Hours to Cool.

After the strawberry pie is cooled and the strawberry filling is firm, Cut your strawberry pie & Serve!
It is delish with a little whip cream, cool whip or vanilla ice cream on top!

We are nearing the end of the strawberry season in our home strawberry patch but I am trying to save as many as I can to make homemade strawberry pie with.

I hope this inspires you to make our family’s favorite easy strawberry pie recipe.
