Move over s’mores our family has a new favorite campfire recipe, banana boats! These yummy, gooey and slightly healthier 🙂 dessert recipe are our go to recipe when enjoying an outside fire whether camping or in our own backyard. We recently went cabin camping in the Endless Mountains and made these every night before bed.
Banana Boat Recipe – The BEST Campfire Recipe
*this post contains affiliate links for more information check out my disclosure page here*
Ingredients – for 1
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 of a chocolate bar (we like Hershey bars)
- handful of mini marshmallows
- aluminum foil
To Make
Tear of one sheet of aluminum foil and peel the banana and cut in half. Then cut the banana longways and place on top of aluminum foil.
Break up the chocolate bar into little bars and add to the top of the banana. We add three per person.
Add a handful of mini marshmallows to the top of the banana and the chocolate.
Cover the banana with the foil.
Place next to an open campfire. Depending on how hot the fire is it might take 3-5 mins for the chocolate and marshmallows to melt. The outside of the aluminum foil will start to grey and get a little cloudy (that’s when you know it’s ready). Use tongs to remove the banana boat from the fire.
It will only take a few minutes for the foil to cool and you can eat this awesome campfire dessert in the foil with a spoon. I hope you enjoy this dessert as much as our family does!
