Campfire Cook Time – 3-5 Minutes

Move over s’mores our family has a new favorite campfire dessert, our banana boat recipe!
These yummy, gooey and slightly healthier 🙂 dessert recipe are our go to when enjoying an outside fire whether camping out a state park or having a campfire in our own backyard.
We recently went cabin camping in the Endless Mountains and made these every night before bed.

Ingredients Needed to Make 1 Banana Boat Recipe
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 of a chocolate bar (we like Hershey bars)
- handful of mini marshmallows
- aluminum foil
Step by Step Instructions for How to Make our Banana Boat Recipe
Step ONE – Tear Off a Sheet of Aluminum Foil
Tear of one sheet of aluminum foil roughly one foot long.
Step TWO – Add Your Banana
Peel a banana and cut it in half.
Then cut the banana longways and place on top of aluminum foil.

Step THREE – Add Your Chocolate
Break up the chocolate bar into little bars and place it on top of the banana.
We add three chocolate pieces per person for each banana boat recipe.
Step FOUR – Add Your Marshmallows
Add a handful of mini marshmallows to the top of the banana and the chocolate.

Step FIVE – Bake your Banana Boat
Cover your banana boat recipe with the foil and place next to an open campfire.

Depending on how hot the fire is it might take 3-5 mins for the chocolate and marshmallows to melt.
The outside of the aluminum foil will start to grey and get a little cloudy (that’s when you know it’s ready).
Use tongs to remove the banana boat from the fire… don’t forget the tongs it will be HOT.

It will only take a few minutes for the foil to cool and you can try our banana boat recipe for an awesome campfire dessert in the foil with a spoon.
I hope this inspires you to try our banana boat recipe at your next campfire cookout.
I hope you enjoy this dessert as much as our family does!
