I have this spot in my living room that I rarely share pictures of on the blog. At one point my secretary desk (which is now happily next to our fireplace) was there and looked ok but for that last few months I have had a print hanging there that never looked quite right.
The size was too small for the space and although I loved this print when we first bought it I had come to get tired of looking at it. Truthfully, I am not sure it ever really fit our style as a couple. It was a bit formal and although I love that the couple is dancing, my husband hates to dance :).
Artwork Refresh in the Living Room
So when Minted contacted me about doing a post about one of their art pieces I jumped at the chance to find a piece of artwork that really fit our style. Enter, The Oaks Barn…. It has been my dream now for many years to live on a farm.
Although, we don’t have a typical farm yet (just an old farmhouse in the suburbs) I dream of one day having a real farm with a barn. Thankfully, that is a dream Jason shares too. I was so excited about this giant barn print that I carried it down our very long and snow covered driveway in just my slippers.
I couldn’t even wait to put more sensible shoes on, ha!
We hung the barn print in a place of honor on the wall behind our sofa. The matted and framed print fits perfectly.
There were already two spotlights on the ceiling so we could even highlight this piece at night. Art can be incredibly personal and this barn print really speaks to our dream as well as our farmhouse style.
Even though the living room was already my favorite room in terms of style and feel I like this room even more now.
Minted had so many incredible pieces of art to chose from. In fact it took Jason and I over a week to decide on Lee Ann Dougherty’s Three Oaks Barn.
Our cart was full of many other prints we liked. Below is 6 pieces of art that we really, really liked… we just might have to refresh all of the rooms in our farmhouse before long :).
Minted’s Limited Edition Art Prints are created by independent artists around the globe. Being an artist myself I know just how difficult it is to make a living from my art. And it makes me happy to be able to help someone do that. Thanks so much for stopping by to see my new artwork refresh in our living room! Do you have any favorite pieces of art in your homes?
