Christmas Living Room Decor

We brought our Christmas tree into the living room and I just love how it looks next to the fireplace.
The living room is my favorite room in our farmhouse. 🙂
Every morning I plan out my day in here over a warm cup of coffee so it seemed natural to me to make this Christmas living room even more special with a tree :).
Our Christmas living room definitely wins the prize in our home for most decorations.
Coming from the foyer our living room fireplace is the first thing you see.
The beautiful white painted panel wall makes a beautiful backdrop for any decoration throughout the seasons.
Christmas Fireplace Mantel
I wanted to keep our living room mantel simple with lots of pops of white and red.
The fireplace mantel also holds my 2 favorite Christmas decorations, an old ceramic Santa and an old Santa music box.
Both belonged to my great grandmother, Nana K and I remember decorating my parent home with them as a little girl.
I added a homemade tartan embroidery hoop ornament to our DIY pallet wreath as the centerpiece of our Christmas living room mantel.
The tartan fabric in the hoop and also on our Christmas tree came from a kilt I had as a girl and is my Dad’s family’s clan color.
A few years ago I embroidered the kids initials on our red stockings.
The red of the stockings look great mixed in with the other pops of red around the Christmas living room.
Christmas Tree with Pops of Red
Believe it or not we bought the Christmas tree from Lowes for $30.
It is definitely the smallest tree we have ever had but it stills looks pretty with lots of handmade and vintage ornaments in our Christmas living room.
I hope to find some plaid pillows for our two chairs on sale after Christmas this year.
I just couldn’t bear spending $30 a pillow.
I added the cedar post house Jason made me to the top of my secretary. He made it to look just like our farmhouse.
I love to sit in our living room and read and look at interior design and gardening books and magazines especially at Christmastime.
Christmas Coffee Table Decor
I made sure to leave a few out on our coffee table along with some fresh evergreens and pine cones in our wooden bowl.
I love the look of wreaths all year round but especially at Christmas!
We have one in every window of our farmhouse.
I added a green bottlebrush tree to our book page wreath.
Here’s a sneak peak of our Christmas dining room.
I will be sharing the rest of our farmhouse next week (see it HERE).
And back down to the living room.
Isn’t there something magical about Christmas lights at night?
