Easy Potato Casserole Recipe with Hash Browns

Prep Time – 10 Minutes
Bake Time – 1 1/2 Hours if Frozen / 1/2 Hour if Thawed
This potato casserole recipe is my family’s favorite dish & is almost always present at EVERY holiday meal including Thanksgiving & Christmas!
Warning… This is not recommended for anyone on a diet, ha!
This is my brother John’s version of our potato casserole dish which happens to be my favorite, his version adds a little kick of spice to it.
Ingredients Needed to Make this Easy Potato Casserole Recipe with Hash Browns
Ingredients for the Casserole
- 2 lbs frozen diced hash browns
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 tsp paprika, 1/8 tsp clove and 1 tsp black pepper
- * For those that like a little kick of spice add 1/2tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 (9 by 13) casserole dish
Ingredients for the Topping
- 6 oz crushed corn flakes
- 1/2 stick of butter
Step by Step Instructions for How to Make this Easy Potato Casserole Recipe with Hash Browns
Step ONE – Mix all the ingredients (except topping)
Mix all the ingredients together except the topping in a large bowl & put in greased 9 x 13 baking dish.
Step TWO – Prepare the Topping
For the topping, melt the butter & mix the melted butter in a small bowl with the crushed cornflakes.
Step THREE – Bake the Potato Casserole Recipe
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hours of frozen and 1/2 hour the hash browns are thawed.
Our potato casserole recipe is almost always baked with frozen hash browns.
