This past weekend I went to the Philly Home Show. It was my first home show and I also taught in a Make and Take Station there. The Philly Home Show is downtown at The Pennsylvania Convention Center and I took the train down as it’s located right next to Jefferson Station. It was really fun being downtown and Jason, Audrey and my sister Tiffany came with me:).
This year the Home Show added a Make and Take Station Workshop and Denise Sabia from The Painted Home was looking for some local bloggers and crafters to help teach it. It was a fabulous idea because you could Make and Take for FREE an array of different crafts, wood working projects or gardening workshops.
It’s first come first serve to 15 people every hour. I wish I could have been there for every one because there was so many great projects!!!
For my Make and Take Station I taught my class how to make Book Page Wreaths Shaped like Hearts as demonstrated by my lovely assistant:). I was so lucky to have the nicest ladies crafting in my station!
Audrey was my unexpected teaching assistant who made sure everyone knew what they were doing:). I was incredibly proud of her!
My sister Tiff, Jason and my blogging friend Tee were a huge help taking pictures and helping people with the craft.
It was wonderful to have Tee there to help me. Tee taught us how to make super cute fortune cookies out of paper she picked up at AC Moore for her make and take station. Her blog is called Beauteeful Living.
Tiffany, Tee and I also made sure to hit the Ikea white sofa challenge. It was fun to see how the 3 of us each created such a different look all with the same sofa. The 2 minutes really goes by FAST!!!
I also loved the kitchen designs Ikea South Philly brought to the Home Show. We are planning on redoing our kitchen in a few years and I was definitely taking notes:).
Tiffany and I teamed up for the Ballard Design and Carolina Hanging Beds Front porch Challenge. It was a lot of fun having a partner for this challenge and I enjoyed spending the day with my sister. It isn’t often that just the 2 of us hangout for the day.
That night there was a fun Blogging event put on from Denise at The Painted Home back at the Chic Sheds. These sheds are decorated so well, don’t leave the home show before you see them! There was food from Corner Bakery café and Chaddsford Winery. I wish I had remembered to take some pictures but I was too busy talking and stuffing my face:). I did plant a succulent plant from Ikea in a pretty white mug from Impact Thrift at Denise’s Make and Take station before heading home. I can’t wait to get outside and do some real gardening soon but until then I will be attempting to keep this alive:).
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out my time at the Philly Home Show. If you get a chance to go it’s still running through the weekend:). Go to Philly Home Show for all the details.
