Today I got a jump start on my Spring decorating by making some book page Easter eggs with the kids. They were home from a school thanks to a snow day:). A 4 day weekend turned into a 5 day one and I was running out of ideas!!! I promised Audrey we would get some spring things out…we are definitely ready for spring here… no more frozen pipes PLEASE!!! Yesterday, our hot water pipes froze AGAIN…we definitely have some more insulating in our future:). That’s what happens when half your pipes run under the wood floors in a dirt crawl space for most of the length of our 100+ year old farmhouse (a former servants house of a turkey farm:).
The kids and I made some book page eggs out of some cheap plastic Easter eggs. They were really easy to make but also MESSY! Audrey pretty much dipped her eggs in the Mod Podge rather than painting it on:). We had a lot of fun and it lasted a good 30-40 minutes including chasing after Moose as he kept stealing our supplies:). I was fortunate to have all the supplies we needed so this project was free for us to make. Yay!
Book Page Easter Eggs
*this post contains affiliate links for more information check out our disclosure page here*
– plastic Easter eggs
– old book pages or newspaper
– Mod Podge
– foam brushes
– wax paper ( I used this to keep my table clean)
– Rip the book pages up (the smaller the better) and start gluing them to the eggs until they are covered completely. Let them dry completely. Put them on display in a basket, bowl or birds nest:). So EASY! They would also be a fun craft to do with a bunch girlfriends and some wine:)…Girls Craft Night…just saying…I could definitely make some more! 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by!!! I would to hear what spring crafts you might be up to!
