With a leaking roof thanks to a previous owners’ inexperienced siding & roofing job done wrong, we needed to replace our roof.
Bay Window Roof Before
Our previous bay window roof was just old asphalt & definitely needed to be replaced.

Because our whole house is getting new siding & roofing to save money we chose to keep our red windows because they were still in great shape & we love the pop of color & character they give to our farmhouse.
On the bay window we also took down the red metal flashing & replaced it with white PVC trim around the window & added PVC beadboard to the bottom of the bay window with copper roof.
Cost of a Bay Window with Copper Roof
In a perfect world with no budget, we would have added a metal roof to our entire farmhouse & garage along with a few smaller copper roof accents.
But… we don’t have that kind of money!!!
Not many people do.

However, we both LOVE the look & character of an old home with a copper roof so to stay in budget we decided to only add a small copper roof to our kitchen bay window.
Unfortunately, even a small bay window with a copper roof is not inexpensive & it still cost us a little over $2,000.
However, copper roofs are supposed to last a lifetime & we will never have to replace our bay window with copper roof EVER AGAIN!
I wish this was something we could DIY ourselves to save money but the craftsmanship of installing a bay window with a copper roof is beyond our skill set.
It really was amazing how a large roll of copper was cut & bent into a gorgeous bay window with copper roof.
In order to keep our roofing budget under control, we chose to have a dark grey asphalt roof installed on the rest of our farmhouse & garage.
Although, metal & copper would have definitely looked better, we are thankful that our roof is no longer leaking & the dark grey gives a nice contrast to our new beautiful white siding & trim.
Bay Window with Copper Roof Ties & Copper Chimney Flashing
One reason we chose a bay window with copper roof instead of a basic colored metal roof is so it would tie in & match the copper flashing the roofers added around the many chimneys of our old farmhouse.
It really does match well & over time both will age & turn the color green at the same time.

The bay window with copper roof really does look beautiful & I just LOVE the sound of the rain on a metal/ copper roof.

It definitely reminds me of being in the country!!!
White Farmhouse with Red Windows & Bay Window with Copper Roof
The warmth of the copper also ties in well with our red windows & white siding.
I can NOT wait to show you guys some more pictures of our farmhouse with our new white siding.

What a difference it makes to the curb appeal of our home & our bay window with copper roof is definitely a part of that!!!
We are hoping to add a cupola with a copper roof in the future.
If you are thinking about roofing options for your bay window on a budget, I hope our bay window with copper roof gives you some inspiration & ideas for your home!
