I am so excited to share how to make our super simple peanut ornament craft that we make every Christmas.
The supplies are easy to find and you can make it for less than 50 cents each.
We have been making this peanut ornament craft since my kiddos were little.
It makes a great gift for a bird lover and we love to hang these in our trees to attract the winter birds in our area.
Supplies Needed to Make a Simple Peanut Ornament for the Birds
*this project contains peanuts so please do not try and make this if you have a peanut allergy*
- A bag of peanuts
- Strong Bendable Wire ( can be found at your local craft store)
- Ribbon, Burlap or Twine
Step by Step Instructions for How to Make Peanut Ornaments for the Birds
Step ONE – Bend Your Wire
I found my green wire at my local craft store.
Bend the wire into a circle with the ends curved out.
Step TWO – String the Peanuts through the Wire
String peanuts through the wire.
You can string the peanuts through the middle or long ways.
Once your wire is full of peanuts, Bend the wire on the ends and connect them.
Step THREE – Hang Your DIY Peanut Ornament
Hang the peanut ornament up with any ribbon of your choosing.
We hung ours with twine & plaid Christmas burlap so it looked natural in our backyard.
We hang the peanut ornaments all over the yard to attract the birds to different spots in our garden & give them a little food to eat especially in the winter.
We made so many DIY peanut ornaments that we still have plenty peanut ornaments left over to give as gifts.
I hope this inspires you & answers all your questions of how to make DIY peanut ornaments for the birds to give as Christmas gifts or use in your garden!
