Are you looking for a fun DIY teacher gift? Today I am joining in with a few of my blogging friends to share some DIY teacher gifts just in time for the holidays!!! Paperwhites are my go to Christmas DIY gift for teachers, friends, neighbors, family…you name it! They look beautiful, are so easy to plant and you can put together a beautiful arrangement for just a few dollars. Homemade gifts seem more thoughtful and special than store bought in my opinion. If flowers are not your thing, be sure to stop by my friends DIY ideas below :).
Paperwhites – Christmas Teacher DIY Gift
*this post contains affiliate links for more information check out my disclosure page*
- Paperwhite bulbs ( I bought these bulbs from Amazon)
- Flowerpots (Ikea has some for less than $1, ball jars, small metal buckets)
- Small stones or pebbles
- Potting soil
- Spanish Moss
- Shipping Gift Tag
Fill your flower pot or Ball Jar with about an inch of stones. Place your Paperwhite bulb up in the center of the pot.
Add potting soil to the rest of the flower pot under an inch or 2 from the top.
Add some Spanish moss to the top of the flower pot to make it look pretty :).
Add water to help the bulb grow. It will take about 3 weeks for your paperwhite flowers to bloom.
I usually plant mine Thanksgiving weekend so they will be ready in time for Christmas break. The Paperwhites will bloom for a few more weeks and add a delicious smell to your home.
Lastly I add a gift tag to make the flower gift that much more personal :).
Don’t forget to Pin our Paperwhites for Christmas!!!
