I am going to be honest, this has been the hardest week of our one room bathroom challenge yet.
My poor husband has been very sick first with the flu & then pneumonia so not much of anything got done this week.
Thankfully, he is on the mend now so we hope to get a lot done on this bathroom remodel this weekend!
One thing we had gotten a great start on a few weeks ago was to add a Vinyl Bead Board Ceiling for our boys bathroom remodel.

Why we Chose to Add a Vinyl Bead Board Ceiling
We chose vinyl bead board sheets because it can hold up much better to moisture than wood which is important because our oldest especially likes to take hot showers.
In my opinion, the bead board ceiling look fabulous & in my opinion a vinyl bead board ceiling makes the perfect bathroom ceiling!
Especially since our previous bathroom ceiling had been covered in peeling white wallpaper.
Can you believe the previous owners covered up the vaulted ceiling over the bath tub?!!!
We were incredibly excited to find this hidden vaulted bathroom ceiling under the drywall!
Supplies & Tools Needed to Add a Vinyl Bead Board Ceiling to a Bathroom
- Vinyl bead board sheets (we found ours at Home Depot)
- Table Saw to Cut the Bead Board
- Pin or Finish Nailer
- Strong Glue like Liquid Nails & Glue Gun Holder
- PVC Trim for around the Vinyl Bead Board Ceiling
- Plaster to Fill the Nail Holes
- Primer & White Paint Suitable for Bathrooms
How to Add Vinyl Bead Board to a Bathroom Ceiling
After peeling down the wallpaper and opening up the ceiling we added the vinyl sheets to our ceiling with glue & pin nailing the sheets into the joists.
Cost of Adding a Vinyl Bead Board Ceiling
We found the vinyl bead board at Home Depot & were able to add this ceiling to our boys bathroom for only a few hundred bucks!!!
Jason added the vinyl bead board ceiling sheets with strong liquid nails glue & his finish pin nailer.
We still need to fill the nail holes, paint the ceiling, and add PVC trim where the ceiling and wall meet but for now the ceiling looks great!

We also love the our new Broan bathroom fan & light from Amazon.
It does a fantastic job getting the moisture out of the bathroom as well as keep our shower bright.

Looks great! Please have your husband take it easy. I had pneumonia last month and I am still not back 100% ! The bathroom will wait- if it isn’t finished, it won’t matter in the grand scheme of things. We all tend to push ourselves way too hard. The changes look wonderful so far.
