Farmhouse Spring Mantel Decor – Inspired by Yellow
*this post contains affiliate links for more information check out our disclosure page here*
In thinking about decorating for Spring I am finding myself more and more drawn to the color yellow.
I used the color yellow as a Springboard (pun-intended) for decorating my living room Spring mantel.
It must be the longing for forsythia to bloom so I can finally get back outside and garden… after all this snow melts of course!
Speaking of snow I totally bought those daffodils in the middle of the snow storm we had last Saturday!
Yellow Daffodils
I also added a white stork planter that was a gift from a friend’s mom when I was pregnant with Ryan over 11 years ago.
Yellow Forsythia Wreath to Center the Spring Mantel
I found the forsythia wreath at Home Goods when I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket.
I am currently on the hunt for another one for our farmhouse front door.
Bird’s Nest Under Glass Cloche & a Chick Egg Cup
I added a Bird’s nest with a ceramic egg under a glass cloche and an adorable yellow chick egg cup for some more Spring Mantel Decor.
Isn’t that chick egg cup so cute?
I brought him out from his normal spot in the kitchen.
Another great thrift store find!
I definitely miss working at a thrift store, you get first dibs on the best stuff.
Eggs Under Glass to the Spring Mantel Decor
I filled my clear glass lidded jar with some eggs from Pottery Barn.
I love clear jars because you can change them out seasonally and they always look great.
Spring Coffee Table Decor
The glass jar Spring Decor continues on our coffee table with fresh greenery shells.
There is even a pop of yellow from our vintage McCoy flower pot.
Because we live in Pennsylvania and there is snow EVERYWHERE we still need a fire in the fireplace.
Thankfully it’s warm and toasty in here!
Yellow is so cheery and bright and I love the contrast of it with the white background of my Spring mantel.
The yellow even beckons your eye into the dining room with my gold curtains.
Yellow also goes well with the other pops of yellow I have around the living room like my Pottery Barn yellow pillows and my crazy bird oil painting called “Where’s my Mommy.”
Four fledglings with their mouths open…the story of my life, ha!
I even added a yellow egg to my book page wreath:).
As you can see I was totally inspired by the color yellow.
What colors inspire your Spring decorating? I would love to hear from you!
I hope my Spring Mantel Decor inspires you to give your fireplace mantel a makeover with pops of yellow!

Thanks so much Suzan!
Tara,
Winter may be looming out of doors, dear one,
but your lovely living room whispers Spring within!!!
I’ve been giving a renewal to our 1970’s Ranch Style Home,
here on the Prairie, and I have soft buttery yellow back splash
that I’ve decided to embrace into my Galley Style Kitchen
and tiny Dining Room!!!
My color palette of choice for Spring . . .
green, purple and soft buttery yellow hues!!!
Today it’s nearing 80 degrees. . .”Mr. Ed” is planting
pansies of those hues into containers on our deck!
They are such a welcomed sight to behold beyond the patio doors!
Here’s wishing you Spring~like temperatures in you area of The Land of Blog!!!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. Visiting from Karen’s Up On The Hill!!!
Pat, thank you so much for stopping by! I am definitely jealous of your almost 80 degree weather today:). I love that you take a cue from the pansies in your spring decorating! I am sure your deck looks beautiful. I can’t wait till the garden centers here start selling them:). Take care, Tara
Yellow is an essential decorating colour! It pops so beautifully in this room. I also love the plants on the table!! I have a case of black thumb. 🙂
Thanks so much for visiting my spring mantel! It’s snowing here again so my plants are about the only green thing I can see right now:)
WE northerners have to “fake it until we make it” when it comes to spring decor, don’t we? LOVE that wreath, forsythia just screams spring. As a fellow mother of four, had to giggle at your painting. My four are teenagers and young adults now, but it still rings true. 😉
Kimm, thank you so much for checking out our Spring Living Room. I laughed at your “fake it until we make it” comment. I guess we should be thankful we get to see all the changing seasons here! With four older ones I bet its impossible to stock your fridge:) Take care, Tara
Hi Tara, I’m a fairly new reader and I was just looking through your home 😉 It’s beautiful! But I cannot tell you how much I love the oil painting of the baby birds! Just perfect!!! Look forward to reading more from you anytime. Happy New Year.
Thank you so much for following along and stopping by to check out my Spring Mantel Gwen! The baby bird painting is one of my favorites but I am still trying to talk my husband into liking it:). Happy New Year and take care, Tara
Your mantel, and your whole room, looks so fresh and bright! It’s beautiful!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see my Yellow Spring mantel Jenny:)
Those wreaths are gorgeous! Love them!
Thank you so much for stopping by Carolsue!
Tara, your home is so cheery, even in the sometimes dreary Pennsylvania. ( I remember struggling through the dark cold winters when I was in school there). It just goes to show what a wonderful color that yellow is! It can just really transform and brighten a room.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Lynn
