Frozen Pipe Thursdays

Frozen Pipes Thursdays

Ever have a day when everything doesn’t go as planned? Or a week? Or a month? Well it’s felt a lot like that here lately. Every year I get excited thinking about all the stuff Jason and I will get done during his week off between Christmas and New Years and every year something happens… Not according to plan:-). This year it was our car dying on a highway at 4 in the morning in Maryland on our way to Florida right before Christmas followed by coming home to a freezing cold house and a broken heater after Christmas. (We had a wonderful Christmas time with family despite!) And a week later on Thursday a frozen water pipe. So while we got done some things like a bookcase and hardwood floors in Tucker’s room and a new puppy

We now have three bathrooms with baseboard pulled off and missing, a giant hole in my 1/2 bath and missing drywall in my family room. Jason spent most of the weekend fixing a rotten sill and insulating and spray foam an outside wall to ensure our water pipes don’t freeze again rather than making Tucker’s barn door so we can finally finish Tucker’s room.  However it’s these crazy frozen pipe Thursday’s where I am reminded how thankful I am that I have a husband that knows how to thaw a frozen pipe and we have a house to insulate and water in pipes that can freeze:-).  Although sometimes all I want to do is hurry up and finish I know  it’s good to slow down and reflect and just be thankful!  Feel welcome to remind me of that please 🙂
