We added a Kohler Brockway sink to our boys bathroom remodel. It saves a ton of floor space, has 2 sinks & looks absolutely fabulous!!!

I have been drooling over the Kohler Brockway sink since the first time I saw it on Pinterest & now we finally have one of our own in our farmhouse boys bathroom.

We have a working wash sink for our boys bathroom!

Jason & I have been working around the clock the last week in the small hope that we might actually finish this bathroom next week & I am excited to finally have something to share with you guys.

Bathroom Sink Before

Just to remind you, below is what our previous sink looked like.

The long console sink took up way too much floor space & was just plain ugly.

Why we Chose the Wall Mounted Kohler Brockway Sink

Wall Mounted Sink Saves Space & Has Room for 2 People

Our new Kohler Brockway Sink has 2 faucets & because it’s wall mounted it saves so much floor space & our boys bathroom looks huge now.

So 2 of our 3 boys can brush their teeth at the same time.

I love the vintage look of the Kohler Brockway sink.

It reminds me of an old utility sink from an old farmhouse or schoolhouse.

Because it is cast iron it will last long after our boys are grown up.

I also love that I will never have to wipe down a counter in this bathroom again, woo hoo!!!

It is also the perfect utility sink for 3 growing boys.

The Cannock faucets that go along with the Kohler Brockway sink are just as beautiful as the wall mounted tough cast iron sink.

Can’t you just imagine all 4 kids lined up to brush their teeth? :).

To create more storage for the room Jason built another built in bookcase much like the ones he added to our kitchen & Tucker’s room.

After weeks of back and forth about paint colors I FINALLY decided on Sherwin Williams Spatial White.

It’s a cool light gray with a little blue.

We also added vinyl bead board to the walls like we added to the ceiling.

We have a lot more painting to do and finally replacing this old floor but here’s our progress so far…

  • Gut Bathroom – Take out tub, sink and toilet
  • Replace old tub and add a new cast iron white tub
  • Take down tub surround and drywall surrounding tub
  • Add cement board and white subway tile and new fixtures to tub
  • Take down tub drop ceiling, contact paper & add a vinyl bead board ceiling
  • Add cement board to bathroom floor and retile
  • Paint and add bead board to the bathroom walls and paint the trim white
  • Add a new double wall sink
  • Add a new toilet
  • Add a built in bookshelf for towels and bathroom supplies
  • Make towel hooks and toothbrush storage

  1. Loving the progress, Tara! That sink really is amazing. Having it wall mounted definitely saves a lot of room. Yes, I can imagine all 4 kids brushing around that sink. You’ll have to take a pic of that! 😉 Good luck with the final details! Can’t wait to see!

  2. Hello,. It looks lovely. We have considered that sink too. However my research revealed that the faucet contains lead and is not for drinking brushing. They are not lead free!! You might want to check???

    1. Hi Dawn, Thank you so much for your comment. After reading your comment I reached out to my contact at Kohler who then contacted Kohler’s engineers who emailed back saying as of May 2015 the Cannock faucets are NSF low lead compliant. It also states on Kohler’s website that the Cannock faucets meet the Safe Water Drinking Act. In researching alternative to the Cannock faucets for this sink I found that the other faucets that fit the Brockway sink, like the Chicago faucet one state that it meets the same NSF low lead compliance as well.

  3. Hi Tara! I’m a fellow ORC participant and I followed the link from the main page because that sink is so eye-catching – what a beauty! Then I looked back to see your ‘before’ pics and, wow! What a transformation you’ve made. Looking forward to checking back next week to see the final reveal.

  4. I just purchased this sink, expecting to hang it up as is. BUT, the underside just doesn’t look as black as it appears in pictures. It’s kind of splotchy looking with lots of imperfections. I was curious if you painted the underside black? Or did you leave it as is? Maybe once I flip it and hang it, all of that will just disappear into the shadows and look black??

    1. Hi Carla, Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for commenting. The underside of our Brockway sink was not as bright black as I had imagined it would be. However, we did not paint it and I am very happy with how the sink looks hanging on our boys bathroom wall. Good luck with your sink and I hope you turn out to be as happy with yours as we are with ours.
