Happy Fourth of July everyone! To help celebrate the birth of our nation and decorate my family room mantel I made this super simple and cheap star garland. All you need is:
Here’s what you do:
2) Cut out the 3 stars and use them as a template to make more stars. In the end I wound up with 3 big, 4 medium and 7 small stars. If you wanted to make your garland bigger you could certainly add another sheet of card stock.
5) Glue on two feet of clear wire on either side. You could have the wire shorter depending on how many stars you use. I kept mine long because I wanted to have the freedom to move it to a different location if I choose too.
Tip: I had all of these items at home already so this craft was free for me to make. I use card stock a lot in my decorating so I usually stock up on it when it goes on sale at AC Moore or Michael’s. You can chose you own favorite pattern. I chose the gold glitter paper because I wanted to be able to use the garland again at Christmas and New Years. I see more card stock garland on my mantels in the future:)…(leaves in the fall, flowers in the spring, hearts or snowflakes in the winter, letter signs). The possibilities are endless:)
I hope this inspires you to create a card stock garland of your own. Please keep checking back to see what we are up to here at Lehman Lane :).
